124/4567/2 (CommonLife)

Post by WRAPboi »

CommonLife is a CA I made to create and find wires and fuses.

First discovery, the wiredecreaser:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 3, rule = 124/4567/2
8bo$10o$8bo!
Next, the podfuse:

Code: Select all

x = 38, y = 3, rule = 124/4567/2
37bo$38o$37bo!
Third, by islptng, the clean C/7 fuse:

Code: Select all

x = 35, y = 4, rule = B4567/S124
12bo$13b18o2b2o$31b3o$13o20b2o!
Too many still lifes and oscillators to list.

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 7, rule = 0/2/4
$4.A$3.A.A$3.BAB$4.B!

/2 means nothing. It specifies a Generations rule with two states, which is equivalent to not having any Generations features.

With no B3, patterns can't escape outside their bounding box.

I know that. But still a cool rule, eh?

I wouldn’t say so. The rule has very boring dynamics and the few fuses present aren’t interesting. Maybe if one of them was Reburnable or could be split, a W110 unit cell could be made, but at present this rule looks like a random outer-totalistic rule, and I don’t see what makes it significantly different from any nearby rule. When posting a new rule to the forums, you should probably post it in MDIOCA or Thread for your Unrecognized CA first, to see if people think it’s useful.

I still think it could be of some use.
i found this:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 28, rule = 124/4567/2
b3o$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2bo$2b2o$2b2o$2bo$2bo$2bo

Please stop making new threads. At least find a rule that can escape it's bounding box, like this one, as an example:

Code: Select all

x = 0, y = 0, rule = 245/368
!
[[ RANDOMIZE ]]
This one is known as move
It has a small spaceship known as the jellyfish.

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B368/S245
bo$obo$3bo$2bo!
mmmmmmmmm, I love eating spaceships.
My name has 9 'm's, if you're wondering.
