I already tried 3-4 times and i never did, that's the entire reason why i am even talking about it here.

I just renamed "Gustone" to "Gustone (old)". You should be able to register with "Gustone" again.

If you want, I can rename your account to Resu (old) and allow you create a new account under the name you had before. However, it seems like I can't merge the accounts afterwards; I just tried it with Gustone, and it said it succeeded, but it didn't do anything.

Edit: Or I can create a account called User:Remu , since that's how I'm referred to in some forum threads.
Edit 2: Can you either set the trusted flag for User:Remu or rename my account to Resu (old)?

Re: LifeWiki Trusted Account Request Thread - Post requests here
Minor suggestions for Future People Who Are Thinking of LifeWiki Names
1) Recognizability between forums and wiki:
I do recognize that sometimes there are good reasons for people to choose LifeWiki user names that are different from forum user names.
That said, if everyone chose usernames for the forums and the wiki that are completely unrelated to each other, it would be absolutely enormously confusing. At least, I would find it enormously confusing!
It seems moderately okay when there's some similarity between the two usernames. But completely unrelated names ... can someone explain to me why that's ever a good idea, from the point of view of being nice to other LifeWiki editors and not giving everyone an increasingly long list of apparently random and yet actually correlated usernames, that basically just have to be memorized?
2) Usernames that can be retyped from memory:
This is another item in the "being nice to other LifeWiki editors" category:
Generally people have historically chosen short easy-to-type and easy-to-remember usernames.
Recently there has been a gradual increase in new usernames that are very tricky to remember and/or hard to type easily on a standard English-language keyboard, either because they're long sentences, or because they contain arbitrary character sequences or spaces or punctuation.
In my capacity as moderator, now and then I have to type the names of LifeWiki and forum users. I'm a fast typist, but I can't type what I can't remember. For some of these usernames, pretty much my only option is going to be to go find an instance of the username somewhere, and copy and paste it: it will never be familiar enough to type, no matter how often I see it.
@Future Creators of Usernames, as you create, please just consider taking basic usability into account!

Hi! I'm WRAPboi, or Wb. I'd like to be part of this community to make posts and discoveries on the cellular automaton 0/2/4, or +2, made by ME! I just want to do that and a bit more, but yes, mostly +2. Thank you! And may all go well; Wb.

Welcome to the conwaylife forums! It usually becomes clear after a while when a CA rule needs its own LifeWiki article in the OCA namespace; multiple people will often get interested in exploring the rule, and will contribute to a thread here on the forums. Those posts can then be added as references in an OCA namespace article.WRAPboi wrote: August 6th, 2025, 1:26 am Hi! I'm WRAPboi, or Wb. I'm going to hold off on setting your trusted flag on the LifeWiki for a while, until after you've gotten used to the standards for communicating patterns here on the forums. I've moved your thread over to the "Other Cellular Automata" board.
Can you explain there why this particular rule is interestingly different from other explosive Generations rules like Brian's Brain or Star Wars?

Re: LifeWiki Trusted Account Request Thread - Post requests here
well, I'm very invested in this, as I have been trying to find solutions to some problems, like: is there a third c/2 ship? is there anything slower? Can i make a gun? Is it Turing complete? there are so many mysteries, and I need a community, instead of 3 people, to help.dvgrn wrote: August 6th, 2025, 5:58 amWelcome to the conwaylife forums! The site search isn't that great so i'm not suprised you didn't find it.

Re: LifeWiki Trusted Account Request Thread - Post requests here
The best place to share your findings is here on the forums. There is a general rule against adding your own discoveries to the wiki in the LifeWiki notability guidelines:
To prevent overenthusiastic edits and conflicts of interest, a commonly accepted rule is that the discoverer of a pattern, inventor of new terminology, writer of a program, etc., etc., should not be the one to document that pattern, term, or program on the LifeWiki.

Could I get the trusted flag on my account? Username is the same as here. I probably won't be editing pages much, but occasionally I can correct incorrect information on the wiki.
EDIT: Got the trusted flag, thank you!
