Also, using this over-unity reaction does have some limitations. Firstly, it can only be used on periods that are 92+8n, and this is only in theory, and with current technology, this is 108+24n, which is not really 'adjustable'.

If you inflate a margolus oscillator enough times it can be turned into a gun, but its original period will be multiplied by a high power of two. I have attached an example of a p1984 (inflated from p62) gun with a p128 filter, but filtering out all of the T's would be possible albeit require very large oscillators:

Any guns with a minpop or period above 1000, a bounding box larger than 1024x1024, are not really notable, because there are probably thousands of these. Also, 204+24n was achievable with technology at the time, but it is now 204+24n, 192+56n, and these x2. If you can implement an example using p8, p10, or p11, then we can add them to this list.

I have tried to use a p8 sparker for a gun, and I have proven that it is actually impossible. This is because the over unity reaction must work at 188+8n, which cannot be a multiple of 8.
Also, Catagolue recognized this as yl_16 in the collections... :roll:

Awesome! finding a toaster is very surprising. unfortunately, it cannot reflect Ts. But, the other p5 can, (finally) giving us T-Loops of 30+5n! :) Also, I think the 2nd p4 might be sparky enough to make a p44 and p52 LCM.

I doubt that we can modify the script to work with INT rules, so I will write a Python script for Golly which can run an active region census for any INT rule.

EDIT: The Golly script works, but it is extremely slow and complicated, so I am making a lifelib one instead.

The P8 sparker can be reduced by using ships instead of loaves as induction coils:
