can someone do some work into finding some smaller spaceships (by minimum population) and finding new spaceship speeds? Any new or smaller spaceships would be very helpful. For more information on what the smallest known spaceships are, go to the tasks on page 2 or the spaceship collection on page 1.

No, unfortunately, that would be impossible, as the T-ship moves at c/4, and the glider moves at c/4d, meaning that the T-ship would take much longer than the glider to get to that position. I have tried making some guns with a double 180-degree reflector (a bunch of 90-degree reflectors), but the gliders period doesn't align with the T-ship period after the full loop, causing a different reaction to happen, cancelling the gun.

I have no idea how to search for a glider reflector - maybe we will eventually discover a sparky oscillator with glider reflecting capabilities. There are no search programs that can search for catalyses in INT rules, so a stable reflector, if one exists, will probably be found by random experimentation and a lot of luck.

You can use backrakes to create a p48 glider stream, but it's not the same as a gun. Plus, a UC would have no way to destroy the rakes, or even build new ones when replicating.

I've tried to make a growing spaceship using this, since loaves and ponds are OTTs for gliders, and loaves can be formed by 2G collisions and ponds can be formed by a glider being sparked by the 4c/8 spaceship. However, they require ponds/loaves to be spaced 4n+2 cells apart, which is very difficult when working with a rake with a period that is a power of 2. I tried using multiple rows, but nothing seems to work. Beehives are OTTs for T ships, but they have no 2-glider synthesis.

I'm also surprised we have no quadratic growth yet, but this is due to the lack of synthesisable linear growth mechanisms. I will apgsearch 10G_D2_+1_stdin overnight, which might potentially yield a synthesis for a puffer engine or puffer.

this is unfortunately a rediscovery. Although this has not been explicitly shown, ThePlayzr already discovered that we can make any oscillator of period 35+7n. if n = 2, then period = 35+7n = 49. Any T-Loop oscillator of period 35+7n, 30+6n, and 40+20n is already known.

I doubt it - many reactions die down or only evolve into 1 or 2 objects. Looking at census.rle, a lot of Life's common active regions evolve into only a single T or glider, or some random constellation of still lifes/oscillators.

One idea I have is to find an over-unity reaction which rotates a glider 90 degrees, then arrange 4 copies of the reaction in C4 symmetry and set up reflector loops to funnel Ts back to the reaction. I doubt a suitable reaction exists, though.

Another idea would be to find a Heisenburp reaction similar to the one used in Maximum volatility gun, where two spaceships generate a glider by passing by a sparky oscillator. - both common c/2 spaceships have 3G syntheses, and we know how to reflect Ts and make gliders with them, so with enough searching, a suitable reaction could be found.

Both of these reactions, however, are obsolete if we can find a glider reflector. apgsearch is definitely the best way to do this - so far, we have found many sparky oscillators. If somebody finds a spark that can reflect gliders (ideally 90 degrees), then post it - there might be an oscillator on Catagolue that produces the spark.
