what's stopping them from doing that? they're not actively trying to push their post count as fast as they can.

Generally just Rule 4, This is an academic forum.

Post count just plain isn't CA-related, so pretty much any mention of it contributes only to the "noise" side of the forums' signal-to-noise ratio.

Not at all! It contributes to the noise just enough that it was worthwhile for a moderator to say "Please do not announce your post count".

Nobody is likely to go around removing anything. But it would be nice to see fewer of these puzzling and arbitrary announcements. Some of us really do find post-count announcements to be kind of strange and irrelevant and annoying, especially outside of the Sandbox. The only question they bring up is, "... why exactly did that get posted?"

Very likely hotdogPi's polite request will have just about the right effect.

I feel like they were joking and making a parody of bad posts, And I do like that, but that sort of thing is really for the sandbox, isn't it? (don't answer that, it was a rhetorical question)

The added two lines might contribute to the noise, if only just. (The line 223=223 may look pointless because it doesn't explain itself, it isn't self-explanatory which is also a problem in many other contexts on these forums. However, if I understand the intent right, this line is because 223 is a prime number so its prime decomposition looks like the number itself. For a composite number, it would be easier to guess the idea.)

I think what contributes to the noise more significantly is the resulting "meta chat" beginning somewhere around viewtopic.php?p=209670#p209670

The post that is apparently deemed problematic by participants of this chat contained a CGoL pattern (9-glider synthesis of a lightweight spaceship) followed by two lines of what might be interpreted as "noise". (I'll leave it an open question here whether a 9-glider synthesis of a lightweight spaceship deserves to be posted outside the Sandbox, or whether this particular 9-glider synthesis is noteworthy in some way.)

The chat following the post doesn't appear to contain any CGoL patterns or CA-related discussion, and doesn't appear to mention any math/CS-related observations that could contribute to understanding of CGoL/CA despite not technically being CA-related.

To me, it looks like the chat is more of a noise than the initial post.

Certain "making fun out of newcomers" or "making a parody of others" threads were locked, because they were problematic due to their purpose.

I don't see this issue happening in this case. It looks like adding decomposition of the post-count into prime factors to some of posts (although not always easy to guess what it means). Not particularly CA-related, but on the other hand not necessarily sufficiently problematic to be deemed inimical either.
