Is there a glider synthesis of the factorial spaceship or the glider 3736?

Been studying b34kt7s2-e34a lately.
The rule has a multitude of small natural ships, which is why it caught my eye. What can I say? I like rules with a lot of ships. I typically do D8_[x] searches, and these 12 have appeared in D8_1 and 4 so far (the most common being the c/6o, and there also being 8 distinct c/4ds and 3 c/3os):

Code: Select all

x = 93, y = 18, rule = B34kt7/S2-e34a

rlifesrc produced this c/2 and 2c/4 fairly quickly. The 2c/4's tagalongs are required for the ship to function, but the parts of the ship are pretty independent, so the orientation and phase can be played with a bit:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 39, rule = B34kt7/S2-e34a

I've also been using this as an opportunity to try out ikpx2. Here's a 2c/5 it spat out last night:

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 15, rule = B34kt7/S2-e34a

Also of note is this p388 oscillator:

That is an adjustable "T" lane shifter (an adjustable lane shifter for the p2 orthogonal c/2 spaceship). It could be also used for merging multiple "T" streams into a single stream. Not sure whether there is a simple reflector, though.

How about "Fetlocked"? All of letters you listed are present.

However, is there some good reason to choose this particular CA out of the space supporting the same spaceships and the adjustable lane shifter? Does this choice need any name at all, rather than any of other possible choices?

This rule (Maybe known) which I called "Smokestacks" usually has much longer lived patterns than Life.
Here's a 64×64 soup which lasts over 91 thousand generations:

Wait, a probabilistic rule? When was support for this added??? Where’s the documentation?

(Also, if we call the c/16d spaceship the “S”, then we get “Calthrops”!)

Not sure about the documentation, but this post should be relevant: viewtopic.php?p=167797#p167797

That's exactly what I thought of.

It's close to a splitter:

^^ Wouldn't it always either "definitely die" or "probably explode"? If I understand correctly how that works, it will never settle into anything that isn't the empty universe. In the modification of B3/S23 ("R1,C2,S2-3,B3,P99,99,1"), the block eventially dies when at least two alive cells "happen to die" at once:

Code: Select all

x = 2, y = 2, rule = R1,C2,S2-3,B3,P99,99,1

Under perturbation of replicators, the wickstretchers could turn randomly, resembling branches:

Here I made the glider twice slower (p8 diagonal c/8 instead of p4 diagonal c/4), by inserting intermediate phases. If you only look at even-numbered generations, then it looks like the usual glider from Conway's Life. The CA is isotropic with two cellstates and a fully-symmetric weighted neighbourhood.

Code: Select all

#C [[ THEME MCell GRID SHOWGENSTATS ]]
