Are these ALL possible topologies in a bounded grid?

X represents all cells dead beyond that border.

Also, what are the names of the three unnamed topologies, and what surfaces do they correspond to? And which are supported in Lifeviewer and Golly?

Same setup as you and I was able to compile Golly 3.4 without issue, but 4.X didn't compile. Probably because I'm still running the 32-bit RPi OS (Debian Bullseye), but 3.4 compiled and insisted on linking Python 2.X. You will have to compile from source. There are no precompiled builds for ARM Linux.

Several questions about the U-turner, in the context of it being used as a "connection point" active object in conduit tracks:

• What are all known elementary "X to U-turner" stable conduits such that the conduit can be preceded by a known "Herschel to X" (elementary or composite) and also can be followed by a known "U-turner to Herschel" (elementary or composite)?
  (I chose Herschels for the question, because it's a sufficiently versatile active object, so that one can simply state "all versatile active objects in CGoL are convertible to/from Herschels" and then ask about Herschels specifically without losing anything.)

To me, it looks a more interesting question to ask where that comes from. The linked wiki changes claim that it's "The less common variant", but there are no links to sources for where to read more about it. (It doesn't look like a _variant_ at all, it's a different constellation.)

Hence more basic questions:
What is known about xp2_s01110szz70ggg07?
In what sense it is "less common" (as claimed in the wiki), as opposed to it being not really common? The octo3g script gives only one three-glider collision. The octohash script gives zero matches.

(It should be possible to engineer "hasslers" that hassle that constellation, but then the same should be possible for many other arbitrary-looking constellations.)

At the time, guntrue_45 already had a 792-cell bounding box, so that's almost certainly an unrelated gun and not anything that would count as a variant.

Probably should specify that I am looking for a completion that works in B38/S23(8) (where no P45 gun currently is known). Since Pentadecathlon and supported reactions don't work, no P15 gun exists in the specified rules as Karel's p15 can't be used to liberate gliders from the p15 B-heptomino hassler.

There are different ways, depending on what is the bigger construction where this would appear. (If you are only interested in whether or not it is possible, then you can assume that any glider salvo can be constructed, see the chapter "Glider synthesis" in the CGoL:M&C book.)

If the context is that p3 wick ( viewtopic.php?p=207730#p207730 ) then the bigger challenge might be finding fenceposts that can be constructed at the ends of a finite segment of the wick, so that it doesn't just self-destruct immediately.

Offhand I don't remember anything much bigger than a dart that's cleanly fishhook-edible.

It's easy to engineer arbitrarily large spaceship flotillas that collapse into nothing when they hit a single fishhook, but I'm not sure if there's any single connected spaceship with an extensible tagalong (or some such) that can do that.

It's somewhat tempting to build a self-constructing spaceship just to serve as an answer to this question, consisting of nothing but two single-channel recipes following each other on the same lane. If recipe #1 hits a block, it builds a memory loop and a crabstretcher; the memory loop catches recipe #2 and sends out a crabstretcher-stopper signal followed by two copies of recipe #2.

The block needs to be built by a recipe that tests for the existence of an eater in a certain location. There are tricks like that hidden in the design of the Hydra, if I remember right.

Usually self-constructing spaceships have one or more gliders that travel at a little distance from the single-channel lane, but that's just for convenience; there are slightly trickier design options with absolutely everything on the same lane.

A general answer is likely to be "it would be updated if someone decides to update it", but whether or not it is a good answer might be opinion-based too.
