9((x^x)+x)=100

x is about 2.4317837983 to 10 decimal places (+0.000423421893371) (3 zeros, nice)

also I'm in both "my number is larger" threads and I can definitely tell you that this one is at least civilized

No. The 1 gets divided too, you can't just divide the TREE(3) and keep the other 1. Let's represent really small numbers (1/TREE(3) in this case) as q right now: [edit: I misunderstood what you wrote but I think we're saying the same thing here]
(TREE(3)+1)/TREE(3) + 1/TREE(3) = 1+2q
Hence:
3.47^(5/7)+(TREE(3)+1)/TREE(3) (+1/TREE(3)) is approximately 3.4319219066... which is WAY too large of a jump for this thread.
My number is (12.04 + (.03^2))^(5/14) + 1/SCG(13). Since 1/SCG(13) is practically zero, and the rest of my expression simplifies to the previous valid number, then mine is ever-so-slightly bigger than the last one.

Of course, this isn't allowed, so I'll actually go with:
ln(8.735 + sqrt7) = 2.43192344682 (+0.000001540193)

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = 2-a35-j8/2-ak34n5i78/3

I checked that expression by eRroR_6o6 before posting my reply above and got a slightly different result, presumably due to accumulated error in one or both of computations. However, this is insignificant for this game, because eRroR_6o6's number remains larger than hotdogPi's number, and my number remains larger than eRroR_6o6's number.
