There is a known beehive factory that would work here, but good luck finding a way to remove the leftover loaf, only to get another stable x3 pulse divider (3G-to-G), which then would end up being larger and slower than known solutions:

Code: Select all

x = 117, y = 116, rule = B3/S23

Some honeyfarm catalyst might work here to put a beehive back on the same lane and in the same place to obtain a more interesting (some larger prime number?) pulse division coefficient, this does not work:

Code: Select all

x = 131, y = 123, rule = B3/S23

If only we could reflect the Herschel's FNG to flip the loaf back (Potential R256, and yes, 256 is a power of 2, but it won't be chainable if you use the FNG):

As I extracted a R to G from an oscillator/gun (I don't remember which it is).
Perhaps there's some other parts to extract from periodic patterns to get some new stable conduits ?

It's actually an HFx124R combined with the standard RF28B.

Code: Select all

x = 26, y = 44, rule = LifeHistory

RF28B is the most obvious thing to connect it to but is not the option option. For example, here is the new HFx124R connected to RF57R.

Code: Select all

x = 41, y = 44, rule = LifeHistory

Adding another block allows to send a glider in the direction of movement of the active reaction to clean the leftover beehive. The cleaning glider doesn't have to be precisely timed relative to the Herschel, and can come later. This might be useful if you have a glider anyway from an earlier part of a circuit where this is used.

That makes the mechanism quite versatile, actually. Both output lanes can be made transparent -- a glider on the lane of the Herschel's first natural glider even gets past the loaf.

So this could maybe see some use as a merge circuit... theoretically, if there's some rare reason why Guam's G4-to-R fits better in some context or other, than a speed tunnel or syringe:

Further, since the lane difference is 4, there is this g-to-g merger, so one can output 2 gliders on the same lane:

On the left 2 gliders are 80 ticks apart, and on the right, there is 2 periodic gun with different periods (826 and 1140), thought with the same elements, and one can toggle from one state to the other by suppressing that loaf by external means. Sadly, that difference is even, again (for those that know why that would matter...)

Here is the odd versions.
2 Guns : p849 and p1163 (849=3x283 and 1163 is prime)

I post here some clean D to X because the D input can't be connected to any conduit I know.
There are D-to-G, D-to-B, D-to-H dependent and a D-to Eater1 :

Here is a non-connectable E-to-G :

Relating to a H to B I saw with a Jubjub clean up, I wondered if there was a way to make it simpler.
Here is my best try. Unfortunately, the beehive I added gets turned into a pond.

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 21, rule = B3/S23
7bo$bo4bobo$obo3bobo$obo4bo$bo7$bo$bobo$b3o$3bo2$12b2o$8b2o2bo2bo$7bob
o3b2obo$7bo8bo$6b2o8b2o!
Completing this would make for a smaller universal LCM device.
Engineering macro-spaceships is hard.
