Random soups in a rule called
IceC have very interesting dynamics. There are two types of areas - darker "solid" and lighter "fluid". In the
dynamic stage the fluid areas flow down the solid areas. Fluid finally turns into a rain which falls infinitely after reaching the bottom of the solid areas. Some stable structures such as guns can exist on the bottom in this stage, but they are often "washed out" by the fluid above. When no fluid is left, the soup enters the
static stage, which is completely stable. In this stage only still lives, oscillators and guns can exist.
The rule already exhibits liquid-like behaviour on the microscopic level.
