Once I had a dream where I had these bags which contained each rule of cellular automata.
I had a lot of bags and I picked some random ones for analyzing.

Anything it collides with that isn't part of the cell is part of the bounds. Each cell was around half a centimeter large.
Sometimes, they would escape.
You can touch the cells, but if you press too hard, they would be destroyed.

A few days ago, I dreamed that Kazyan completed a partial ∏→G that I found in real life then demonstrated connectability by feeding the output glider into a G→∏. The latter conduit had the glider collide with a beehive then used two fishhooks and a beehive with tail to turn the collision into a ∏-sequence and a beehive in the same position. The dream ended just before I could ask Kazyan why the G→∏ wasn't known since its repeat time looked like it was less than that of the syringe,

I once found a spaceship by using random fill, but in the dream I could somehow only paste patterns on lifewiki. It is trivial (probably 1c/2 now I think about it) with known components. There was another one (probably c/3) that I found with rlifesrc(the only thing I could remember is that it was asymmetric so it isn't that quick but now I know that it is actually easy to find (especially in ObliquePufferLife)). I couldn't even remember what it looked like.

I once had a dream involving a weird orthogonal spaceship that could be duplicated by bombarding it with gliders (so in particular it was possible to create a gun that fired this spaceship), but where this spaceship didn't have a known synthesis.

Today I had a dream that [the Discord] server only had two channels: #oca-discussion and #lifenthusiast, which was private for some reason.

my dream had something where I wanted to round the corners of some objects so I suggested "remove B3a" (and it worked) despite 1. cellular automata not appearing elsewhere in the dream, 2. the objects being 3D, 3. the objects were already there with square corners, and removing B3a would only affect new objects

my dream had a special event where we could all meet Matthias Merzenich in person somewhere in the suburban Boston area (Medford?), and he was expected to be there at 4 PM, time highly inexact because it was 2-hour drive from Cape Cod during rush hour
the other people there were two people I know in real life who don't know each other and don't know about CGOL in real life
the first question I asked Matthias Merzenich in the dream: "Do you have time to search stuff given that you seem to spend all your time moderating the forum?"

If I had that dream I would see if I could use the "swipe a finger down" gesture to pause and tapping to toggle a cell and I could so I break some chaos and make and destroy new objects and discover objects.

Weirdest CA-related dream (or equivalent?)

I had a dream where I and a few other CA enthusiasts did a CA quiz in person. Everyone was divided into teams of two. The questions were normal, for the most part ("what is the Spider? what did zdr use to find the Copperhead? when was Eureka discovered?" etc.)
And then someone in my team, I think H. H. P. M. P. Cole or Confocaloid, answered a question (I don't remember what exactly) with the answer "February 23rd, 1582."
Edit: I just noticed. February 23 is 2/23.

(I had this one in August 2024.) I scrolled through my DMs with DroneBetter and I said to myself: "It's time. We finally did it.". Cut to an airplane where almost everyone around me was in a hammock and playing an app we designed. This app was designed to be a gamification of qfind, and so everything else in that game was "re-branded" accordingly: e.g. searches were called Q-searches, and the mascots of the app were called Q-cats. The app was called, unremarkably, QTime. Gameplay worked like this: you would give a chatbot (called Q-chat) your search, where you literally "talk to" both mascots. One of them would check your search parameters, and the other would print out the result of your search, if there is any positive result, along with the ship's stats and a DroneBetter-style phase-colouring of the ship.

Today had a very weird but realistic dream.

Harfordson had invited me to Keith Amling’s house for dinner (Keith’s house looked like an apartment on the outside, but looked like a mansion from the inside) and I remember having deep blue soup (tasted sour and fragrant, like Vietnamese noodle soup) . We talked about Grounded Life, Factorio and Determination and Keith told me to check the Cgol forums when I returned home as he found something new and interesting. So I just did that in real life.

Keith looked like a teenager with a perm and perfect complexion. Harfordson looked like Dr Orbax but with all hair lilac coloured. Apparently we had talked for 28 hours but nobody noticed.

Today I had a dream where at first it involved Minecraft, specifically me spawning? in the Nether and trying to light a portal (somehow theee were things from real life), but later it started mainly involving a multistate rule.
What I remember about the multistate rule is the following:

• The background/dead state is not black, but rather maroon;
• There is a yellow alive state, where the stairstep hexomino is a still life;
• There is a black alive state where 2x2 blocks (they could have somehow been 1x1 in the dream but I’m using logic to fill in the gaps) follow the B36/S125 block evolution, but sometimes produces an orange state;
• The stairstep hexomino is also a still life in the black state;
• The orange state follows some generations rule with B2a and creates another state as the dying state;

When I try to make this rule, I’m taking the colors from Rule:3.5table3beacon.

Last night I had a dream where spaceships from cellular automata "escaped" into the real world while I was rulegolfing.
In the dream, there were swarms of gliders flying around my house. There was also a 3c/24o from the rule I was golfing inside the dream, which had pink, blue and white stripes. They escaped by going past the boundaries of whatever program was used to simulate them.
Each spaceship had their Pentadecathlon ID as a tag on the frontend, and if a ship crashed into terrain, the ship wouldn't disappear, but the cells that make up the spaceship would fall on the ground.
I also remember getting a pet c/3940o, which I named Smokie. He nearly got hit by a car. The shop I got him from (this is in the dream, of course) was named "Prodo's".
