PLACEMENT:
Do not remove the initial glider or any patterns that already exist. You are only allowed to add still lives or oscillators; no spaceships are allowed in the initial pattern. You can add as many patterns as you need per turn, so you can add seeds for any spaceship.
SCORING:
The score is equal to the pattern's maximum population divided by the number of initial still lives/oscillators. A game is completed once you have a diehard pattern.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no sufficient protection against the game devolving into posting large randomish RLEs (instead of "help destroy the ash").

New rule: All patterns that are added must be listed as naturally occurring (not seminatural) on Catagolue, otherwise they will count as the number of minimum cells against the score, as opposed to one point. So, the 'exploit' pattern would score up to (1232)/(1025) = 1.2020, while the worst possible score would be 1.0000. (EDIT: fixed score display to account for a hat I did not see)
Also, unused patterns (patterns that are not interacted with by the collision) can be destroyed to make room for useful patterns.
