The effect is that from the viewpoint of apgsearch, many compact constellations become single objects. I submitted 1 000 000 16x16 soups to x2xb3s23clustersv0/C1 using this ruletable.
In the xq4 tabulation, the HWSS (with 142 occurrences) is closely followed by the following glider pair (113 occurrences). This seems to be unambiguously the most common glider pair, out of pairs recognized as single objects. (I do not know whether there are more common glider pairs with higher separation between gliders.)

In the following table, columns are:
- "b3s23/C1-2023-01-15" -- the number of occurrences in b3s23/C1-2023-01-15 (3 744 946 382 598 037 objects generated from 171 433 196 116 960 soups)
- "estimate" -- estimated number of objects per 1000000 soups, based on the b3s23/C1 data
- "x2xb3s23clustersv0" -- actual number of occurrences in the first 1000000 soups in x2xb3s23clustersv0/C1, counting only clean occurrences (i.e. excluding larger constellations tabulated as single objects)
