well, the original idea was to eventually get to enormous (i.e. googological) numbers. Though as it's been going right now is fine as well imo.

why should this thread be locked? i know from other posts you have that you think this does not relate to CA, but this is the sandbox! why would pzq_alex's random posts not be locked, then? mathematics are also a substantial part of understanding cellular automata.
