Wick in b35/s23

Post by fluffykitty »

Can someone stabilize it?

Code: Select all

x = 24, y = 24, rule = B35/S23

The challenge with this rule is, there are so few oscillators known (relative to Life, anyway) that there's no good starting points for stabilising things like these. Like for the P10 you posted, an obvious place to start would be using P10 or P5 oscillators that give off accessible sparks, but (I don't think) any are really known in this rule.

On the subject of not-yet-stabilised objects in this rule, here's a near miss P17 agar that looks like it could be converted to an oscillator maybe:

Code: Select all

x = 77, y = 77, rule = B35/S23

Each rotor only interacts with the adjacent rotors in one generation, leading me to think that it could be stabilised with a well-placed still pattern, but I have no idea how to go about finding one that'll work.

Also, a P14 wick that needs stabilising:

Code: Select all

x = 57, y = 4, rule = B35/S23

On an unrelated note, here's a nice P82 oscillator:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 13, rule = B35/S23
