A new class of automata.

Post by {censored} »

This is a new class of automata I just imagined.
These automata function very much like the normal B/S ones, but have a few additional parameters.
If a cell borders a certain number of cells that will be born under normal rules,it will be born as a special cell. That part can be added as BB or SB and the usual cells' birth rules can be with A(to not avoid confusion with birth and survival rules). In general, more can be added, but that would be complex and would need adding more of the next parameter type I will describe now.
At the very end of a special part with the function of the special cells:
0: behave just like the first cells
B(bomb):kill all the neighbouring alive cells
L(life):make all the neighbouring cells be born as usual cells
R(reverse):swap the neighbouring alive and dead ordinary cells
Also, there can be added 0 or 1 at the end of this section. 1 means that those cells can turn into ordinary ones under standard birth rules and 0 means that that is not allowed.
Another thing is that for parts beginning with B another letter to decide what cell type(s) exactly is (are) affected.
At the end of this last parameter only those numbers can be.
An example rule:
BA34cz/SA234e/L1/BB36/SB235n/R0A
Good idea?

Write your rule definition in Java and use file RuleTreeGen.java to generate a Golly rule file, run Golly using that file and see for yourself whether it is a good idea.
