EDIT2 by dvgrn: Argh, now somebody has reported this post with the text "rigging the game is not allowed"... which just wasted a little more of my time that I'll never get back again.

This thread is going to stay locked. Any future threads that seem to have no other purpose than to create lots of posts in the Sandbox with near-zero signal to noise ratio ... may end up getting locked, too.

There are no guarantees on this, since I hope to continue to not waste any time paging through piles of pointless Sandbox posts, except when someone reports something. Whenever that happens I may well lock the relevant thread and move on, since that often solves the problem quicker than anything else I can think of.

If people go back to behaving reasonably and can avoid getting into silly flamewars and reporting each other's posts and so on, the Sandbox might just revert back to the previous "benign neglect" method of management -- there certainly aren't any moderators who really want to jump in and police it. It's almost as if everyone has a million more interesting things to spend time on.

However, all Sandbox users should please be prepared for anything to happen, up to and including any and all Sandbox threads suddenly disappearing, or the entire Sandbox board shutting down.
