Yes this was awkward to use. Even building the test case above it's clear that the MAXZOOM only option is unlikely to be what you want, since you have to do unatural things with the label size.

I just spent some time last night putting together waypoints for a timeline advertising Hunting's LeapLife rule for the OCA Discovery of the Year competition.

The difficulty I ran into was the same one that I've mentioned once before: it's easy to build and check the first several transitions in the timeline, so I was fine up to T=5000 or so. But around T=10000 I ran into some tricky adjustments that needed to be made to catch all the action -- had to try a dozen different sets of waypoints before I got one that worked, and each trial meant re-watching the timeline from the beginning.

I thought maybe there was a decent workaround that I just hadn't tried before -- turning off waypoints with the GUI button, running at x64 to the point I was interested in, and then turning waypoints back on again. But that seems to give me just a gray screen and no action. In the above timeline animation, try running to T ~7500 at x64 with waypoints off, for example, then hitting Play after turning waypoints back on.

... So that's a bug report, I guess. But the previous feature request of turning the T slider-bar display into an actual slider bar would be a huge improvement over this kind of slow workaround, if it can be done!

I'll take a look at this. At a minimum perhaps I can add some "Jump forward 10 seconds" kind of feature.

Great animation! These get better and better. Lovely to see the vision from 5+ years ago continue to come to fruition!

Actually it is kind of working. If you put the InfoBar up you'll see the coordinates moving, also if you put the T menu up you'll see some weirdness with the current cell location and state. And, as if by magic, when the time gets to about 1:30 it's back in the correct position and continues.

When you switch waypoints back on, LifeViewer realises it's in the wrong place and so freezes playback and sets the camera to glide to the correct location before continuiung playback. Unfortunately it hasn't taken into account that we got here faster than expected and so it's extrapolation of the position to glide from is vastly wrong. This should be a quick fix and then the workaround you are trying should work.

I will look at the bigger solution in due course.
