I don't think that's a good idea. We would have to make many more interactions. Maybe it would reduce the number of states because it uses elementary particles, but I don't think it's worth it, though we could try. Are you imagining electrons spinning in the Moore neighbourhood of a central nucleus cell?BokaBB wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:14 am The Powder Game?I used to play it in the earlier times, but I have now abandoned it in favour of The Powder Toy.
The biggest problem at the beginning will be how to make atoms move in some direction. I support the use of the atom tails.
What about not making elements by themselves, but protons, neutrons and electrons? That might solve many problems, but potentially also make new ones.
Have a good day!

Yes. I have an idea, altrough limiting:there are protons, neutrons and electrons labelled with numbers. The protons with number 73,for an example, will attract the electrons of the sum 73.Schiaparelliorbust wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:18 amI don't think that's a good idea. I don't know for sure what neutrons should do, they should be removed probably since they aren't much nesecarry. Also, that would allow more states for the other two particles. However, the isotopes couldn't then be made. This idea isn't overally good since it would require LOTS of programming, altrough it is possible a script could be made for that. However, I think a version with a small amount of states is worth trying.
Since we should be able to (hopefully) represent all the elements,we must strategize.
Does LifeWiewer also has a 256- state limit?

Re: Chemical CA
Isotopes are complex and really only change mass, which probably won't play a role in this CA. The only really important role players in chemistry are electrons, and to a lesser extent protons (only their charge will matter in this CA if we make it like this).BokaBB wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:28 am es. Probably, though I can't find anything on the LifeWiki page on it.BokaBB wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:28 am Does LifeWiewer also has a 256- state limit?

Yes, because Rule Table have a 256 states limit and if you try generations:Schiaparelliorbust wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:41 amIsotopes are complex and really only change mass, which probably won't play a role in this CA. We already decided we are not going to use elements that uses electrons, so no.BokaBB wrote: November 27th, 2020, 11:28 amYes.
