i was originally gonna post this in the unrecognised CA thread, but i didn't want to clog up the already-overflowing topic, and I wished to do something like this for my pathetically magical tenth post.
so for my tenth post, i decided to propose a rule with fairly interesting properties. cereal (B2ai/S03) is a chaotic/explosive rule in which almost every pattern forms some sort of fractal. it's called "cereal" because cereal is a huge mess, like so. the most common fractal pattern (lazily coined, the binary proton) usually comes from this smol 2 cell seed shown below.
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 1, rule = B2ai/S03
2o!
#C [[ THUMBNAIL ]]a pre-block makes two BP's
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 2, rule = B2ai/S03
bo$2o!
#C [[ THUMBNAIL ]]here's a sierpinski triangle fractal
Code: Select all
x = 6, y = 6, rule = B2ai/S03
2bo$4b2o$o2bobo$2bobo$bobo$b2o!
#C [[ THUMBNAIL ]]rake/puffer things?
most common of which, the duck, which also makes a little triangle fractal behind it as it goes :)
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 3, rule = B2ai/S03
ob$bo$2o!
#C [[ THUMBNAIL ]]and a pattern related to the duck
Code: Select all
x = 8, y = 6, rule = B2ai/S03
obo4bo$o6bo$3bobo2b$b2obo3b$bobo4b$2b2o4b!
#C [[ THUMBNAIL ]]any spaceships that stand true in this rule?
this rule is useless, so i'll stop now
