It's self-evident. Why are you asking that

Congrats! Never expected the ship at this speed could be simplified so much. It runs smoothly even on my phone!
It should be showed on the news page. And it's time to give it a name!

Will we have a “much more smaller (34, 7)c/156 ship”?

This one？

Gustone wrote: August 16th, 2026, 6:18 am New simpler mechanism. With just one reset it's the new smallest. A second reset makes the period doubler unusable

Gustone wrote: August 16th, 2026, 5:22 pm Made the second reset work. -21k cells

Is this true?
For each rational number, there is a spaceship with this slope

A gun/oscillator whose period is continuously variable, adjusted by some curcuits

……why is the conversation which you linked to in Chinese?

Cause I AM Chinese……and, this conversation is used to translate the CGoL textbook and LifeWiki pages to Chinese, so that I can understand them conveniently.

EDIT: why do you use so many ifs instead of switch?
EDIT2: oh dear, I'm in ...

Mind commit it to Github? So that everyone can improve it. You can also co-operate with AI.

Can we use GPU programming to simulate CGoL and other CA? It may be faster than using CPU

I collected and itemized them:

Geminoids in multi-state CA
• Cactus
• GeminoidMaster , GeminoidMasterSimple
• GeminoidUniv (orthogonoid), GeminoidUniv (knightship)
• TinyOrthogonoid
• hc0-Univ
• R2INT-Univ-pre0 , R2INT-Univ-pre2
• Serizawa
• GeminoidParticles
• JvN29
• Sticky (orthogonoid ...

......I think the idea of "toy constructions" deserves discussion and more serious exploration.
How about a " 0E0P metacell for kids"......

Maybe it's helpful to use other rules supporting universal construction to make a “prototype” “blueprint ...

I try to use the Windows version on my phone, and it failed
*snip*

Since Android is a version of Linux, maybe running the Linux version will be smoother.

Well, maybe I can try using Termux to run Linux version……but apparently it will be much more troublesome, probably with more ...

Seems Windows Golly cannot run properly in Winlator (a Windows emulator on Android). A dialog box says “ Failed to create a temporary file name (error 267: The directory name is invalid.) ” and the display area is completely black, rendering no grid, no cells, no graphic.

There's a rule called Maze.

I mean, a “solvable” maze, which has an entrance and a goal, and a route from the entrance to the goal

each RAM unit should be reconstructed to a huge screen

I am not sure I understand the idea

Sorry for my poor English that can hardly express my idea......
In the QFT computer, an RAM unit's state (aka the bit storaged in it, 0 or 1) can only be distinguished by the state (color) of the two ...

Is there a CA that summon a regular maze from any soup?

I6_I6 wrote: June 29th, 2026, 4:54 am I wondered that myself, too!
There's this rule:

Code: Select all

#R TernaBlip

Great minds think alike......
What a pity that it's shelved and no one gives full play to it

I wonder if we could realize a ternary computer with a special CA

#C 8c/78 Mini Orthogonoid in a 10-state Moore rule

I'm not sure about the specific ruletable; however, I think the idea of "toy constructions" deserves discussion and more serious exploration.
How about a " 0E0P metacell for kids", or " DOGun SaGaQR for kids", or " RCT for kids"?

Will ...

Here we are with a hashlife friendly metablinker. Metacell 512*512 life cells, cycle 2^{10}*3*5=15360.

We can use this to make the QFT computer smaller......
Other circuits can be megafied with this. As for the RAM, which displays the Tetris game, maybe we should turn every RAM unit to a ...

I think we can construct a (33,6)c/267 spaceship:

So this will be a Giraffe-Weevil-like ship? Maybe we can search for more ships of this kind......They can be collectively called “weevilships”.

EDIT: Seems that Cateloopillars use the same technology (convoys of *WSSes) as Giraffe Weevil, so we ...

• A spaceship (not a glider/*WSS) that changes its direction after colliding with a glider/*WSS
• A spaceship that will “split” to two or more spaceships at fixed time, or after colliding with a glider/*WSS

Is there a reflector that:
• has two states that reflect a glider to different directions (eg. 90° clockwise & 90° counterclockwise)
• is easy to switch between two states (eg. emitting a glider/*WSS to it)

Furthermore, can it:
• change its state every time after it reflects a glider

I think, if ...

Wait a minute......before giving it a name, is there anybody simplifying it first, like what we did to Solifuge or Leafbug 2? This “Annelid” is so record-breaking huge that even 1 generation takes 1 second on my phone.
