Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries

So this is supposed to be RLE? But it's not the format I'm used to, which looks like this:

Code: Select all

24bo$22bobo$12b2o6b2o12b2o$11bo3bo4b2o12b2o$2o8bo5bo3b2o$2o8bo3bob2o4bobo$10bo5bo7bo$11bo3bo$12b2o
(This is a gosper gun)

Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries

Hmm , maybe I'm dumb, but I don't get it. This for example does NOT give me RLE:

Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries

Thanks for the explanations!
But one more question: What's the format the Catalogue uses for the patterns and how do I convert it to RLE?

Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries

Thanks for the infos, guys. Didn't know that "Catalogue" page yet. Always just used the wiki here on conwaylife.com as reference. (But also a Google search for "period 145 glider gun" didn't really turn up anything useful.)

Re: Thread for your unsure discoveries

I think I discovered the period-145 glider gun by simply taking away some structures from the period-435 gun.
AFAICS there seems to be no period-145 gun anywhere on the internet yet.
I'm a bit baffled that no one seems to have thought of this before, tbh...

x = 112, y = 54, rule = B3/S23 ...
