Re: Project Omniraumschiff (The Shipsearch Project)

What should we have under the statistics page? We could do things like "number of speeds discovered to date", "most common speed", etc... I don't think it could be exactly like the Catagolue page but it could be similar.

Re: Project Omniraumschiff (The Shipsearch Project)

@Hibiscus and @H. H. P. M. P. Cole, those both look really good! One question for Hibiscus -- under which tab do you actually find the database of ships? I might be dumb, but maybe we should add a "Rules" page where you find all rules with submitted spaceships, and in those rules you can find the ...

Re: Project Omniraumschiff (The Shipsearch Project)

If we're going with a Catagolue-style logo, what object are we using? I would probably use something I've discovered, but that seems unfair, so I'm allowing the community to decide.

I vote we use an loafer, since it's a life-like spaceship with a somewhat rare speed.

I'd also say we could ...

Re: Project Omniraumschiff (The Shipsearch Project)

You can customize your background color.

Sure, that sounds like a good idea. In that case, maybe the default can just be grayscale or some very toned-down shades of a different color.

I would also suggest that the person who submits a ship (if they are the first to discover that ship) are ...

I don't have any website creation experience, so I can't -- I'd be happy to help design any art or layout stuff though. Ideally, we could get support from a moderator... I don't know how plausible that is though. Even if we don't have someone to make the website, we can still make some design ...

We should probably have a minimum number of points you need to give away to start a bounty, otherwise people could just spam them and cause chaos ...

Re: What Sounds Do CA Objects Make?

I think a snake would hiss when touched (e.g. used as a rock catalyst) but otherwise remain silent. A glider would make a very quiet, rhythmic tick-tock sound as it traveled (making one tick every generation), would let out a quiet breath if it were eaten, and would make a bonking sound when ...

Re: Project Omniraumschiff (The Shipsearch Project)

Oh sorry, I thought this was INT. In my opinion, INT would make a more interesting database with more things to find, since the OT rulespace isn't huge (although clearly an INT database would take more work to make). If we're focusing on Life-like cellular automata, some of those achievements may ...
