Why does it only suppost outer-totalistic rules? Is it a limitation of the dependency used to run the CA?

Re: SKOP LCM galleries
I think the word "known" is absolutely required. There is an obvious difference between "the smallest X" and "the smallest known X".
Yes, of course. This was just an oversight on my part.
I think the "As of" date would be helpful to readers. Not sure about the exact date format, but I would ...

No. For example statements of the form "As of YYYY-MM-DD, there are N known X" (or similar) don't have to be updated immediately when some new X becomes known, because the ...

Re: LCM oscillators above p500
The issue is not how much space it takes up but how much work has to be done to update the list.
That's a fair point. Although I'm not sure why higher-period oscillators would be harder to update than lower-period ones? Or is it just that it makes for more things to update? But wouldn't that be ...

Re: SKOP LCM galleries (Re: LCM oscillators above p500)
500 is an arbitrary cutoff, but some cutoff / criteria are needed, otherwise what prevents an overenthusiastic J. Random Wikieditor from adding dozens or hundreds of high-period LCMs per page?
The fact that there aren't dozens or hundreds of high-period SKOP LCMs per oscillator. (Except for very ...

LCM oscillators above p500
A while ago, I added SKOP LCM galleries to pages like 44P49 , and HotdogPi removed the ones above period 500 as "not really notable". I'd still prefer to add them back, as I think they are notable, 500 is an arbitrary cutoff, and it doesn't increase the size of the galleries too much. Does anyone ...

Re: Glider synthesis on LifeWiki
I disagree with your claim that the "after" part is "clutter".
I believe showing the "after" part is useful and not clutter.
It's useful both because of helping people who copy the syntheses from the wiki, and also because it's helpful to see the target object nearby (so that when the collision ...

Re: Glider synthesis on LifeWiki
[...] Well, the wiki is not Niemiec's database. In particular, the syntheses on the wiki aren't just files in a database; they're embedded on the page for that particular pattern, so it's already clear what pattern they make. They're also animated, so the "after" does in fact appear during the ...

The wiki edit https://conwaylife.com/w/index.php?diff=155875&oldid=152738 involves an undiscussed and unexplained removal of the "after" parts from synthesis RLEs.

If the infobox shows the version from the stamp collection, then the question "why this version?" can be answered "because it was in Dean Hickerson's stamp collection". That is a sufficient explanation.

Note that there are no hyphens between words, and that these are not simply "the same names exchanged with each other" as was proposed in the proposed moves.

I should point out that most names on Catagolue were copied from the wiki, so a name being on Catagolue doesn't imply it's well established. Changing a name on Catagolue isn't very hard either.
