Do we know the fate of all patterns fitting in a 5x5 bounding box? What about larger sizes?

Re: Thread for basic questions
Does this pattern have a name? It seems fairly common, but I don't think I see it in Simon Ekström's list
Code: Select all
x = 5, y = 4, rule = B3/S23

Re: Thread For Your Useless Discoveries
My favourite class of methuselahs is some inconspicuous objects getting hit by a glider.
This one is "glider hitting a toad with beehive nearby", 4739 generations

Re: Thread For Your Useless Discoveries
I found this in a soup. Here's a methuselah that lasts 7068 generations.
Code: Select all
x = 37, y = 28, rule = B3/S23

Re: Thread for basic questions
What's the name of this constellation? Also, how can I find names of common constellations? Is there a constellation-database somewhere?
(I know the Catagolue database tracks still lifes, oscillators, ships, and linear growth in soups, for example.)
x = 13, y = 2, rule = B3/S23

Re: Thread for basic questions
Is it possible to run apgsearch using custom seeds?
Yes! A starting point is Catagolue as a generic pattern inventory .
It does seem as if there should be a quick LifeWiki tutorial written giving all the details of an example of how to run a set of RLEs through apgsearch and upload them to ...
