I did, ok.

Also, could you update the thread title, since the current name of the thread doesn't suggest it's about B34k/S23 (honestly, the current title sounds like some weird non-vanilla or generations rule)

Re: Miscellaneous Discoveries in Other Cellular Automata

As far as I can tell, there is no plausible consistent way to interpret '4z' as denoting a transition .

Moreover, the code snippet you posted after the quoted sentence appears to list eight different rules , making things even more confusing than they were before.

Re: The 323: A 32-bit computer

That would be a truly masochistic endeavor. 86x is one of the most awkward CISC architectures in existence. ARM, SPARC, RISC-V, MIPS, Alpha are much better designed. Being popular does not necessarily mean good. The same applies to OSes. If someone would try to implement a modern OS in a CA, that ...

The entire RuleLoader ruletable represents a cellular automaton .
Individual lines (such as "1, 0,1,0,1,0,1,1,1, 1") represent specific update rules of the cellular automaton.

Re: Camels14

"Symmetry" in this sense isn't a property of the evolutionary sequence.

It is a property of rulespaces, not of evolutionary sequences. For example, there are many non-isotropic rules that allow a glider to evolve, if it's positioned in a particular way. But this is not what we usually view as ...

Re: Camels14

Additionally, I don't see how "symmetry" would be relevant here, can you explain that part? (I see relevance of neighbourhood.)

That's because the sets of transitions and thus rulespaces are different in different symmetries. There are only 2^18 outer-totalistic Life-like CAs, 2^102 isotropic ...

I believe that the rule B2en3aei5ac6aci7c8/S2-i3-k4c6a7c abundant with natural (2,6c)/14 camelships deserves its own thread. First, some definitions. Re: Miscellaneous Discoveries in Other Cellular Automata

As for the claim about those rulestrings being "natural", I think that's misleading as well. Arguably it would be more natural to look at birth conditions and death conditions (those that are necessary for a given evolutionary sequence; those that are optional and can be added/removed; those ...

Of course it does, only for regular 2-state isotropic rules though. Not apgsearch as a client, but the Catagolue server:
