Re: Recommendation about editing last instead of posting
I can imagine some special individuals who is visiting every topic just to see if something was added to the last post, but majority of people don't do that

I see, so even though this rule is written kind of strictly it's still possible to break that rule occasionally without serious consequences

Re: Recommendation about editing last instead of posting
I see your point
Now a little of common sense - as correctly noted above if you add something at the end of the last message it will NOT be reflected in the list of topics, so updated topic will go to the bottom of the page and eventually will "die" on the next page of the list, because nobody will ...

Life viewer is not allowed
Please add to the rules that life viewer tag is not allowed (at least for newbies) because right now it is a strange situation when it's kind of allowed (and included as a button in dialog form) but then somebody reach you through private messages and "politely" ask you to change viewer tag to code ...

Re: Recommendation about editing last instead of posting
As long as you know that people subscribed to a thread or board will get a notification email pointing them to your new post, and that's exactly what you want to happen, then you're probably doing double-posting right (unless you start getting objections).
That's a point I had not considered. I ...

Those messages are kind of having different subjects written in different days, but ok - if you like to read long posts talking about slightly different things at once that's fine

Re: Research on orthogonal lightspeed signals traveling through striped media
There are CGOL things called "wickstretchers" that can be used to build zebra-striped channels - for example this one (created by Jason Summers in May 2005) with reduced height to fit small light-speed signal (here I use object OSD5#A72B64 ) and it may even absorb incoming light-speed defect if it ...

It's really nice little blob
I've saved it to my collection
P.S. It's 16x16 - does it mean that nothing smaller can crawl "against-the-grain"?

Re: Research on orthogonal lightspeed signals traveling through striped media
This is all 1970s stuff, I think.
Yes, sure it started early - 1st finding was noted in LifeLine 3:17, September 1971 :)
But most recent one I think 2007 (according to Gabriel Nivaschs's page ) BTW it was from HartmutHolzwart

I decided to create separate topic specifically about this type of signals:

Re: Search for fast signals
So all cells of the "drifter" must die in generation 0?...
No, that's certainly not true. I haven't run many dr searches myself, but I think that a 1->1->0 cell would just have to be set up as "o".
The idea is that all 'o' and '.' cells form part of the stable background...
So then 1->1->0 ...
