Wow, it feels surreal to be back after nearly a decade! I'm delighted to see this is still the same community I knew, just with some impressive upgrades along the way. It's like reuniting with an old friend who's somehow gotten even better with age. :P

Also, I can't run your pattern. Can you provide RLE so I can run it in LifeViewer?
Sorry, my fault.. I posted an .mc file. :D

Silly, period-220, 2-cell gun in LifeInvestigator rule. Probably already known.

Code: Select all

3 0 0 0 2
4 0 3 0 0

[Golly] "LifeHistory" for CA other than Life

Hello to all:

Just a quick question. Is there a trick to get the LifeHistory functionality for an arbitrary cellular automaton e.g. B38/S238?

I'm trying these two commands successively:

g_setrule("B357/S238");
g_setrule("LifeHistory");

But it seems as if LifeHistory is hardwired to B3/S23 ...

Just a quick question: Is there a way in Golly to get Random Fill probabilities inferior to 1% with/without scripting?.

Thanks in advance. :wink:
